What is Castfold?
+
Castfold is a cockpit for running many YouTube channels. You create channels with your own details or with an AI-generated concept, connect each channel through Google sign-in, schedule uploads by posting rules, see analytics and insights across all channels and get recommendations from the AI advisor. The video studio produces short videos from AI video clips and AI stills. Existing channels can be imported with their videos and analytics.
Does Castfold create the YouTube channels for me?
+
No, YouTube does not allow that through its API. Whether you set name, description and images yourself or let AI generate a concept, Castfold prepares handle suggestions, avatar and banner (generated or uploaded by you) and walks you through the manual steps on YouTube with a checklist. After connecting, Castfold shows you the channel it found; as the last step you tick individually what gets transferred to YouTube – name, description, keywords, language and country, translations of name and description, banner – or confirm without transferring anything. The profile picture cannot be set through the API and stays as you uploaded it on YouTube.
Can I import existing YouTube channels?
+
Yes. Choose "Import an existing channel", sign in with Google and pick the channel. Castfold first shows you the channel it found (title, handle, subscriber and video count); once you confirm it is your channel, Castfold takes over channel picture and banner, name, handle, description and language, every video with its title and description, and the analytics. Video files are not copied; the videos stay on YouTube. You do not need a channel concept for this – existing channel data is enough for new avatar and banner variants, and with one click you can derive a full concept from it if you want one. Every channel is a channel in your subscription and costs €19 per month incl. 19 % VAT, less from the fifth channel of an account (graduated price), and you see that before the import.
How long does Castfold keep my video files?
+
It depends. A file you upload without scheduling it is kept by Castfold for 30 days (up to 50 GB per account) with a reminder by email seven days beforehand; after that you simply upload it again. Once a video is scheduled or published, Castfold removes its own copy as soon as YouTube has processed it, at the latest 48 hours after the transfer. The entry, title, description and analytics always remain; the preview then plays through YouTube. This applies to studio videos and uploaded videos alike.
Which languages can I publish in?
+
In any language YouTube offers, not just English or German. You set the spoken language per channel and change it per video when needed. On top of that you pick further languages in which viewers see your channel – AI translates the channel name and description and keeps them up to date when you change the original, and “Castfold → YouTube” sends them to YouTube. AI translates a video's title and description in one click for a few cents of credit per language, or you write them yourself; they go to YouTube with the upload, and viewers see the video in their language. Description templates exist per language, with their own call to action, notice, hashtags, links and default tags. Tags, extra audio tracks and thumbnails per language cannot be set on YouTube this way; for a spoken version in another language you create a video of its own. Which language pays off is shown in the “Languages” area of your analytics, with median views per language, language versions compared with their original, and viewer countries since a language was added.
Do I need a separate Google account for every channel?
+
No. Brand channels hang off one Google account. You connect each channel once via OAuth and pick the matching brand account in the Google dialog. You can disconnect at any time in Castfold or in your Google security settings.
Do I have to label AI content?
+
Yes, YouTube requires a label on realistic synthetic content. Castfold helps with an AI disclaimer in the description template; the label in YouTube's upload dialog remains your responsibility.
What does Castfold cost?
+
Every active channel costs €19 per month incl. 19 % VAT, €15 from the fifth channel of an account, €12 from the fifteenth (graduated price, example on the pricing page). That includes concepts, setup, scheduling, analytics, insights, advisor, metadata AI and the translation of channel name and channel description, up to an amount per channel and month. On top of that you only pay from your credit for video studio usage, against a fixed price list per clip second, still, voice minute and thumbnail, and for video translations by text length.
What's included in the channel price for AI?
+
Per booked channel and calendar month you get 20 channel concepts, 60 AI advisor questions, 300 metadata suggestions (title, description, tags), 100 channel translations (per language, name and description), 10 channel images and 100 studio ideas and voice suggestions; more channels grow the amount accordingly, and it renews on the 1st of every month. Without a channel subscription you can create and plan channels and get a smaller amount to try the product (10 channel concepts, 8 channel images, 10 metadata suggestions, 10 channel translations, 20 studio ideas, no AI advisor), plus a trial video from the starter credit; you book a channel only when you connect it to YouTube. Video generation in the studio and video translations are separate and are paid from your credit.
Is there a starter credit for new accounts?
+
Yes. Every new account gets 5 € credit for free. Sign up through a referral address and another 5 € is added, 10 € in total. The credit is used up last, after any paid credit, and expires 30 days after being granted.
Can I export my data or delete my account?
+
Yes, you do both yourself in the application under Account. The export gives you a ZIP with your channel, video, analytics and studio data and, for the account owner, invoices and credit history. To delete you confirm with a code sent by e-mail; afterwards channels, content and YouTube connections are removed immediately, a running channel subscription ends at the end of the billing month, and unused paid credit is refunded. We keep invoices and credit bookings for as long as tax and commercial law require (see privacy policy).
